Rosemary Focaccia
Warm, soft focaccia, with a crispy crust around the outside!
There is nothing more comforting than fresh baked bread, straight out of the oven! The smells of the rosemary and olive oil baking are amazing. You will be surprised by how easy it is to make fresh bread at home!
Ingredients:
- 1, ¼ oz packet of active dry yeast
- ½ tsp sugar
- ⅔ c warm water
- 2 c flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ c olive oil + few tbsp extra
- a few sprigs of rosemary or ½ tbsp dried rosemary
Instructions:
- Mix warm water, sugar, yeast, and set aside to bloom for 5 minutes
- Mix flour and salt in a mixer with a dough hook OR a bowl
- Add 1/4 c olive oil and yeast mixture to the flour
- Turn the mixer to low speed and let it go for 3 minutes OR mix the ingredients together and then knead the dough for 3 mins
- Put the dough in a bowl oiled with olive oil and put in a warm place for 45-60 mins, until doubled in size
- Push the dough into a 9X9 pan coated in olive oil
- Push your fingers into the dough to leave indents
- Drizzle over olive oil, salt, and rosemary
- Bake at 425 degrees for 12-16 mins, until just brown on the edges
This bread works great to pair with any dish, on the side of a bowl of soup or a fresh salad. You can even use this bread to make a sandwich!
